Was there any chance that adding fresh strawberries, sugar, grenadine and a splash of vodka along with frozen cubes of Rosé to a blender and whirring them up until they’re frosty and smooth could possibly taste anything but sublime?
This recipe is easy – like, level 1 easy – so you can look like Super Hostess without breaking a sweat. I can’t believe this genius concoction was only thought of last year, by Bar Primi in NYC. That blows my mind – it kind of makes me think, ok, all the amazing things haven’t been invented yet! There’s still greatness yet to be discovered!
Here’s how this all comes together: the day before, pour your rosé into ice cube trays, then pop them into the freezer for at least 8 hours. Add the strawberries to your blender, then sprinkle with the sugar so they release their juices. Finish by adding some grenadine, vodka, and your frozen rosé and blend it all up. Pour it into a chic glass (these ones from Anthropologie are on my housewares wish list), garnish with a strawberry and voilà – the prettiest way to cool off.
Some recipes for Frosé involve adding the strawberries to a simple syrup and discarding of them once they’ve released their juices – but I find that the finished product doesn’t have that gorgeous pop of hot pink you get from adding the strawberries whole. Also, this way you end up with more of a slushie consistency, which is fine by me.
I paired this Frosé with my simple Brown Butter Cinnamon Sugar Popcorn and it was a perfect match. This combination is fun and easy to prepare and everyone raves about it! A perfect menu for Girls’ Night.
